Discover
the hidden treasures of the Chippewa National Forest at Timber
Trails Resort. Should you choose Fishing!!!, there
are plenty of prime waters to accommodate anyone from the beginner
fisherman to the tournament bass fisherman and all in between. Talk
to Pat in the store and he will gladly mark a map for you, tell
you where the fish were found “last week” and recommend
the lures and baits to use. Better yet, make friends with our seasonal
Carl and he’ll give you plenty of pointers! And don’t
forget our favorite job of taking your photo for our fishing Wall
of Fame.
Hike on our trail around Pair a Dys and
look/listen for the many kinds of birds from big [pileated woodpeckers]
to tiny [ruby throated hummingbirds], walk softly and you may happen
upon a fawn or some fox kits. Hang out at the beach, soak up the
sun, float on a floatie, dive off the dock or build sand castles.
Float down the Boy River in canoes and watch for eagles and deer.
Take on family members or other guests in a game of horseshoes or
bocce ball. And of course we’ll see you at our Timber
Trails Wednesday nite fish fry and campfire where
“fish and a dish” are the delightful fare and Toni’s
batter makes ALL fish taste like walleye! If you have a talent you’d
like to share, bring your equipment and join us around the campfire.

If
off-site fun is what you’re looking for, try your hand at
racing turtles in Longville, be sure to let us know if you are planning
to go so we can enter someone in the “resort” race that
kicks off the races each week. Or check out some of the local golf
courses, Deep Portage Conservation Reserve, the Forest History Center,
Itasca State Park, or the Woodtick Theatre. Other nearby activities
include: go-cart racing, waterslide, casinos, antique shops, restaurants
and unique shopping.
